According to Dijksma, the group has become smaller in recent months, due to the hard drugs ban, but also due to the deployment of the police and the so-called ‘on-and-off team’. That team consists of employees from the municipality and aid organizations. They try to persuade users to use existing facilities. Of the approximately 120 users, there are now only about 25 to 30 left who do not respond to this. That group continues to meet persistently at places along the canal near the Hieronymusplantsoen, Lepelenburg park and the Lucasbolwerk.
