The young murder victim was found dead in a wooded area in Nynäshamn municipality last Saturday evening.
– It can be established that he was subjected to severe physical violence and he was found by members of the public who passed the scene by chance, says Hanna Cardell, senior prosecutor who is investigating the case.
TV4 Nyheterna has previously been able to tell that the 14-year-old was reported missing on Monday last week. At the time, he was placed in an HVB home.
In December 2021 and April 2022, the administrative court and the court of appeals in Jönköping decided that the boy should be cared for according to the LVU, the law on the care of young people. This after social services received a report of concern linked to him being reported for a crime.
The boy was from Nässjö and the municipality was the ones who placed him in a HVB home.
In connection with being informed that the young teenager had been found dead after disappearing from the residence, they decided to make a report to investigate themselves.
The municipality: Hits us all incredibly hard
– As soon as something deviates from regular care plans and procedures, we establish, as a matter of routine, a deviation to review ourselves. And when a child dies, it is definitely an anomaly, says Jeanette Öhrlund, head of unit and responsible for the social service’s exercise of authority within Children and young people in Nässjö.
The entire event and course will now be mapped.
– We will look at our documentation, what have we done, what have we known, what have we acted on, what have we not acted on, and also have a dialogue with the contractor who worked with the individual in question, says Jeanette Öhrlund .
– It is clear that it hits us all incredibly hard, it is an incredibly tragic situation. Mainly for the family. A 14-year-old who gets to end his life this way, this early…
The police are looking for another boy
The 14-year-old was reported missing together with another boy of the same age who has still not been found. According to TV4 Nyheterna’s data, the missing person was also placed in a HVB home. He appeared before social authorities after being suspected of several crimes and, among other things, “staying in risky environments”.
Prosecutor Hanna Cardell confirms that the police are looking for one more person, but otherwise does not want to comment on the case.
Even the Stockholm police are very secretive about the search.
– This investigation is in a very sensitive situation and right now I do not want to make any comments whatsoever regarding the police measures we are taking, says Per Fahlström, police spokesperson.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, Rawa Majid, known as the “Kurdish fox”, and people acting on his behalf have a connection to the criminal suspects in the case.
