It was shortly before four o’clock on Sunday morning that the police were alerted to a suspected dangerous object on S:t Persgatan in central Norrköping.
Several residents in the area have been evacuated and referred to the Flygeln event venue.
– A policeman knocked on the door and told me to leave my apartment, a man tells SVT Nyheter Öst.
He tells us that it feels unfunny and he is considering moving away from the city.
– There is so much going on here, he says.
The municipality’s crisis support was activated
The National Bomb Squad was on site during the day to investigate the suspicious object.
At 11 a.m. there was still no information as to when the residents could return from the collection point back to their homes.
– We are open here as long as needed and the municipality’s crisis support is activated, says Vuk Vujovic, civil servant on standby at Norrköping Municipality.
