In the fifth episode of “Masked Singer Sweden”, it is the Mountain Troll who is allowed to leave the competition and behind the mask hides yet another sports star and yet another World Cup 94 hero, the former soccer goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli. For him, there was no doubt that he would participate in the program.
– I’ve wanted to join the whole time, I’ve just been waiting to be asked. My grown children have believed that dad was in every season. It was a matter of course to accept, says Thomas Ravelli to TV4.
The children understood immediately
But his children will not be particularly surprised that he is now involved.
– They already called me during the first program, it took half a minute and they said “Dad, that’s you”, says Ravelli.
He has denied that it would be him hiding behind the mask, but he doesn’t think he managed to fool them.
– They know it’s me, they are almost one hundred percent.
But there are others who will be surprised, believes Ravelli.
– They will probably be like when Janne Andersson appeared as a mole, people sat there with their mouths open. The same with Therese Alshammar, then they also sat but with their mouths open. “Wha! is that her?”. I can’t see anyone who guessed me either, he says.
That’s how Ravelli reacted when he saw Brolin
Something that also made him drop his chin was when he saw that Tomas Brolin, who had to leave already in the first episode, would also participate in the program.
– I saw him when we were going to scratch, when he came in I dropped my chin. “Are you going to be there too?”, I could have been a football player myself! But for me it was good that he was like a diversion for Måns. Then it was hard to guess me, says Ravelli.
In the program, we hear Ravelli say that a win would be as big as the penalty he saved during the World Cup 94, which took Sweden to the semi-finals – but it was not a win. He is a little disappointed that he has to leave the competition.
– I haven’t had a bad time in the other episodes. It felt like an anti-climax, I think, I had already practiced next week’s song, he says.
– But when you get perspective on it all, it’s incredible that I went as far as I did. It sounds pretty good too, I’m happy with my singing. I couldn’t do better than what I did.
