Many people know Hafthor Julius Björnsson from his role as “The Mountain” in Game of Thrones. However, the strongman is also active on Twitch and recently reported on his latest discovery: the MMORPG streamer Asmongold.
Who is the actor? Hafthor Julius Björnsson played the character Gregor Clegane, known as “The Mountain,” in Game of Thrones. The Icelandic strongman is one of the strongest men in the world and eats over 10,000 calories a day to prepare for competitions.
However, Twitch streamer Asmongold’s diet could be upsetting his stomach, as he revealed in a recent stream.
Strongman proposes exchange with Asmongold
What did the actor discover? In a stream on his own Twitch channel Hafthorjulius, the actor reports that he came across a “brilliant” podcast. It was “Steak and Eggs,” a podcast that Asmongold runs with two members of his content organization OTK, Emiru and Tectone.
Hafthor came across an episode from early 2023 in which Asmongold rated numerous types of fruit – many of which he apparently ate for the first time. The Twitch streamer’s diet consists mostly of fast food, soda and candy – and $2 steaks.
“I was shocked,” the strongman exclaims. His companion explains to him that he hasn’t seen “anything yet” and that Asmongold is “different,” but Hafthor says he has seen everything he needs to see. You can watch the stream excerpt here in the original English version:
The video, however, gave him an idea: The athlete wonders aloud how fun it would be to travel to Asmongold’s place in Texas and try out each other’s diets. Hafthor admits that one day on Asmongold’s diet would probably be enough to lose all of his “gains,” but he doesn’t want to dismiss the idea entirely.
“Can you imagine how funny it would be to watch him eat my diet? He would die. He took tiny bites of the food and almost died.” It is uncertain whether the two will meet – there is currently no reaction from Asmongold.
Apart from his diet, Hafthor has something to like about Asmongold: he is quite funny, and he almost died laughing a few times.
Fast food is an essential part of many Twitch streamers’ diets: Those who stream for many hours a day often have neither the time nor the desire to spend long periods in the kitchen. Content creators therefore do not necessarily have a reputation for living particularly healthily – one wants to change that: “All Twitch streamers just sit at home and get fat” – Trymacs launches fitness challenge
