The Grinch was released in theaters in 2018 and collected over $540 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Since lists of the highest-grossing films of all time are usually not adjusted for inflation, The Grinch actually stands up Number 1 of the most successful Christmas films. The top 5 looks like this:
Thanks to the live-action film with Jim Carrey from 2000, the top 5 is all about the green curmudgeon. But of course we can’t suppress Kevin – Home Alone. Because taking into account the inflation rate since 1990, Kevin would overtake the Grinch, and significantly so. According to this, Home Alone would be valued at over a billion dollars today.
