The action RPG Black Myth: Wukong is currently the most requested game on Steam. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release on August 20, 2024. Xbox players, however, will have to wait a little longer.
What kind of game is this? Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG based on the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West”. The player controls the mythological king of the apes Sun Wukong on his fateful journey.
Since the release of previous favorites Hades 2 and Manor Lords, Black Myth: Wukong has been the number 1 most requested game on Steam.
At the Summer Game Fest 2024, the release date was announced with a trailer and pre-orders opened. However, Xbox players will be left empty-handed for now.
Fans are disappointed: Xbox version missing in trailer
What about the Xbox version? The action RPG will be released on August 20, 2024 for PS5, Steam and Epic. However, the Xbox version, which was featured in previous trailers, is noticeably missing. On Reddit, a disappointed player says: I’ve been following this game for years and this feels like a gigantic rugpull.
A rug pull is a scam that is particularly well-known in the crypto industry. Xbox players feel duped by the sudden absence of their version. Fortunately, in this case, postponed does not mean cancelled:
In an FAQ on the official website, the developers explain that the version for Xbox Series X|S is still being optimized. A release announcement will follow as soon as this version meets the quality standards.
For all other players, pre-orders are now officially open.
This is what the collector’s edition contains for $400
Which editions are available? Black Myth: Wukong will be released in both digital and physical formats.
The physical editions currently only seem to be available for PC players. The actual game is also delivered here as an activation code. They should be available to order from a dedicated website in this country from June 10th.
To ensure that those who pre-order can actually play on time for the release, the activation code will be delivered in advance. It is not yet known when exactly the actual special editions will be shipped.
