Biden called on Floridians who received evacuation orders to leave the area they live in immediately, stating that this was a “matter of life and death.” The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEDA) announced that they are ready to distribute 20 million meals and 40 million liters of water.

According to the statement made by the National Hurricane Center, the speed of Hurricane Milton reaches approximately 260 kilometers per hour. It was stated that the hurricane, which reached the region around 8.30 in the evening, was capable of causing great destruction by hitting the west-central coast of Florida. As of the moment the hurricane made landfall, the maximum sustained wind speed was recorded as 190 km per hour and it was reported that the hurricane was moving at 24 km per hour in the east-northeast direction.
1.3 MILLION PEOPLE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY
While hurricane force winds were effective up to 56 km away from the center of the hurricane, tropical storm force winds spread up to 400 km away, especially in the north direction.
Meteorologists expect these strong winds to affect a large area of the state, including the Tampa Bay area. The winds continued from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning, negatively affecting life in the region.
