MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider mustn’t think about Starfield: otherwise the time until the release passes too slowly. He also doesn’t look at leaks. A leaker’s statement finally got through to him and it was exactly what he wanted to hear.
I didn’t realize it until late, but actually I love the games from Bethesda. I just never used to think about which developer studios are behind my favorite games.
Whether Elder Scrolls or Fallout – starting with The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion I put hundreds of hours into the series, even the MMORPG Elder Scrolls: Online could keep me busy for more than 1,000 hours. TESO apparently had to balance Fallout 76…
I now know which games belong to Bethesda and what image the developer studio has. That’s why my biggest concern for the release of Starfield for a long time was: How badly bugged will the SciFi role-playing game be? After all, Skyrim, Fallout 4 or Rage were difficult candidates for release.
But then a leaker said something that took a lot of the burden off me.
The latest trailer for Starfield was shown at gamescom:
What was that leak? Shortly after the distribution of the first review keys, the first major leak is already making its rounds. Reviewers actually sign a kind of non-disclosure agreement, so they are not allowed to talk about the content or their impressions.
But the YouTuber “Tyler McVicker” with over 350,000 subscribers on the video platform said the one sentence I wanted to hear:
15 hours in and not a single bug. / 15 hours in the game and not a single bug.

His statements were not directly publicly available, but were posted by McVicker on a Discord server. But his first impressions made the rounds quickly. For me it was 8 words of pure anticipation.
The YouTuber shared other positive impressions. Click on the Reddit link in the quote box if you want to see the other statements. One sentence was enough for me and now I can hardly sit still.
Only a few days left until Early Access and I can finally see for myself.
Others are already further: Xbox boss Phil Spencer has spent 200 hours in Starfield. Colleagues around the world are working on tests and reviews that are allowed to go online on August 31, 2023.

Otherwise, keep your fingers crossed that the next week will pass quickly. I just simply can not anymore.
