The Boys season 3 is finally here. Those who have followed the coverage of the new episodes are expecting a whole new level of Bloodshed, hedonism and biting satire. That’s exactly how it is. The first critics are enthusiastic. And traumatized.
The Boys on Amazon Prime Video: Season 3 more merciless than ever
“Drastic is truly an understatement for what is happening here“, says Vanity Fair, for example. Fans have long known about the planned superhero orgy in The Boys Season 3, but the sight itself is apparently a life-changing event. However, the crossing of borders does not end there. “Fights are so common that they are used as mnemonics“, writes Indiewire. “Season 3 raises the bar and begs the question of how much higher it can even be.“

However, all critics seem to be convinced of the bloodthirsty and revealing result. Season 3 is consistently compelling, according to Indiewire. “The Boys is an oasis for those who don’t want to live in the Marvel world“, explains Vanity Fair. Empire names the new episodes “captivating“and noticed they blurred”the line between good and bad more than ever“.
There are a few small downers. Gamesradar objects that Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) and newcomer Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) in particular could have had more appearances. But at the end of the day, these are minor details, as Indiewire points out:
Doing each of these things half as well as in Season 3 would be a challenge, and doing them all while maintaining their own identity, makes “The Boys” all the more impressive.
