The most expensive edition is said to cost €300 – that’s in the Collector’s Edition

Tonight, 6/11, there will be a Bethesda and Xbox showcase. One of the biggest games of 2023, the SF role-playing game Starfield, is to be presented. In the run-up there is now a leak about versions and prices of Starfield. The enormously high price of €300 for the Collector’s Edition triggers mockery and scorn at Bethesda.

This is what the leak says: The Dealabs site has published a leak. One of its authors, Billbil-kun, is considered a reliable leaker.

According to the site’s information, Starfield will come in 3 versions:

  • A Standard Edition – €70 for PC, €80 for Xbox Series X/S
  • A Premium Edition – €105 for PC, €115 for Xbox (prices not yet confirmed here)
  • The “Constellation Edition” – PC €300, Xbox Series X/S €300
  • It says: The Constellation Edition is the Collector’s Edition of Starfield and it will only be available in physical format, not as a download.

Fans scoff at Bethesda’s previous Collector’s Edition bugs

How is this discussed? There’s not so much discussion on Reddit about the absurdly high price, but rather speculation as to what Bethesda is putting into the Starfield Collector’s Edition to make it worth so much money. Bethesda’s “special editions” have sparked debate in the past.

In previous Bethesda special editions, there were statues or even helmets. Ironically, Reddit is now speculating on a Starfield helmet.

One says mockingly: He hopes the helmet is made of a very rare material such as canvas – this alludes to a major controversy in Fallout 76.

There was a lot of discussion about this bag made of “silk cloth” in 2019.

For the release of Fallout 76, Bethesda had promised to deliver a bag made of high-quality canvas for the “Power Armor Edition”, but then it was only made of nylon because “canvas” (canvas) was said to be no longer available.

That was a big topic for months in 2019. Bethesda was taunted that there was no more canvas available on the planet. Apparently there is a global shortage. This was a symbolic discussion:

  • Just like Bethesda had used cheap nylon instead of high quality material
  • Fallout 76 was also seen as inferior in quality to Fallout 3 and 4
  • Others are now making fun of the Starfield price, whether there is a whiskey in a plastic bottle inside.

When will we find out more? Today, June 11th, there will be an “Xbox Games Showcase” followed by a Starfield Direct. The event starts at 7 p.m. We will accompany it on MeinMMO.

According to the leak, the versions should be presented there. If so, we’re sure to find out what’s in the Collector’s Edition.

A watch is the special goodie of the edition

Update June 11, 10:20 p.m.: Bethesda has now revealed the contents of the “Constellation Edition”:

Players will receive the following bonuses up to 5 days earlier in Stellaris and in-game Early Access:

  • Laser cutters
  • Deep Mining Helmet
  • Deep Mining Pack
  • The version comes with these goodies:

  • Starfield Base Game
  • Shattered Space Story Expansion (on release)
  • Constellation Skin Pack: Equinox Laser Rifle, Spacesuit, Helmet and Boost Pack
  • Access to Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack
  • Steelbook® case
  • Constellation patch
  • Starfield Chronomark Watch and Case
  • Credit Stick with Laser Etched Game Code
  • There is no price on the edition yet, but €300 seems likely.

The special thing about the edition is apparently the watch, which was also prominently displayed at the showcase.
