Already in the first episode of the 3rd season, The Boys team kept its promise: the series should be more disgusting, more brutal, more bloody than ever before. the Premiere episode Payback hits below the belt, literally. She’s the disturbing one FSK-18 version of Marvel’s most family-friendly hero, Ant-Man. The Paul Rudd character became the involuntary lead of the 2019 well most bizarre Avengers 4 theoryon which The Boys now enjoyably orientated themselves.
The Boys season 3 brings to life the “thanus theory” of Avengers 4
Quick Reminder: What is the Thanus Theory? Marvel villain Thanos had wiped out half the universe in Avengers 3 and appeared indestructible. How were the Avengers supposed to stop him? Then someone came up with this strategy: Ant-Man, which can shrink and grow spontaneously, should be flea-sized through the anus into Thanos crawl and suddenly swell once in the body.

You can imagine what happens then – or something like that now in The Boys season 3. (Read our take on The Boys scene here) That’s where he crawls super termite as part of a sex game in his friend’s urethra. He sneezes, forcing him to suddenly swell to normal size, blasting the body he had just inhabited. Health!
In an interview with Variety, showrunner Eric Kripke reveals that this sequence’s parallels to the popular Avengers theory are not coincidental:
[…] We asked: Which superheroes haven’t we had yet? Someone says, ‘We haven’t had Ant-Man yet.’ Then someone else says, ‘There’s the meme with Ant-Man climbing up Thanos’ butt and exploding inside him. We could do that. We should give audiences what Marvel can’t give them’.
Because of course Thanos is defeated in Avengers 4 in a much more boring way. The problem was: There was already an “ass explosion” in The Boys. What now?
The scene was implemented in The Boys Season 3 with a 20-foot penis

Termite after his mishap
The solution was obvious, as Kripke explains:
Excluding butts, there are limited ones openingsthrough which one can go.
And “the mouth is not funny. [… ] So we made a new way through the eye of the needle,” with which he die urethra means. In order to depict this not necessarily everyday scenario, CGI was of course helped along. But not only, as Kripke says:
[…] this is a real penis. A penis 3.40 meters high and 6 meters long, who has a urethra, a tunnel built at great expense. We got a lot of money from Sony and Amazon to build this. And that’s another reason why I love my job.
Of course, the penis scene is just one of many disturbing moments from the current season of The Boys. And the Herogasm will probably surpass everything at the latest.
