The most controversial MCU nuisance returns for the third time

Some Marvel villains, despite their evil nature, enjoy immense popularity. Many fans were happy about the return of the green goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Iron Man antagonist Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) doesn’t belong in that category for most. And yet he should soon be returning to the MCU for the third time, as Variety reports. In the Disney+ series Wonder Man.

New Marvel series brings back Ben Kingsley as MCU impostor

Slattery made his debut in Iron Man 3, where he is a B-actor recruited by villain Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) to serve as the public face of fictional terrorist Mandarin. This was followed by other appearances in the short film Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It didn’t make him more popular for many. Because of his slapstick cheater nature, he is controversial among fans (via Comicbook.com).

Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery

That could change with Wonder Man. The recently announced Marvel series about an actor and stuntman endowed with superhuman strength offers the character Slattery a perfect basis. According to Variety sources, it is said to be a Hollywood satire. The clumsy naivety of Kingsley’s character would have found an ideal biotope.

According to the report, Slattery will play a bigger role in Wonder Man. No details are known about the story yet. The IMDb cast list alone promises a Reunion with many familiar MCU faces.

When is Wonder Man coming to Disney+?

There is no official launch date for Wonder Man yet. We expect to start shooting in 2023. In theory, the series could early 2024 appear. According to the Hollywood Reporter, it will be produced by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi.
