A prisoner swap was held in Ankara today under the mediation of MİT. The swap, which included the mutual exchange of 26 people held in prisons in the USA, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, Russia and Belarus, was the most comprehensive operation of the recent period.

Following the swap, the US made successive statements. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made a statement regarding the swap, which was carried out under the control of MIT, saying, “We are deeply grateful to Turkey for making this agreement possible.”

Another statement came from US President Joe Biden. In his statement, Biden said, “I am grateful to Turkey for standing with us in the negotiations.”
