Nowadays, no beloved children’s film from the past is safe from unwanted sequels, reboots or even prequels. But what if you get a team of enthusiastic filmmakers together who unconditionally support all Passion and love of the world into their project? Could it then perhaps work out?
The creators of Wonka answered that question last Christmas with a musical, loud “Oh yes!” Which is no surprise when you consider the talent behind it – a dedicated, completely out-of-the-ordinary Timothée Chalamet and a director and screenwriter who A knack for brilliant family films have already proven several times.

Wonka is a fantasy adventure full of wit, magic and childlike enthusiasm
Even before Wonka was released, there was a great deal of scepticism among viewers and critics. A prequel to Roald Dahl’s children’s story, which had already been filmed twice, seemed like a financially motivated studio decision. But if you looked a little closer, you could see the good omens: it was directed by Paul King, who had already directed the two heartwarming Paddington films.
He also brought along some of his previous partners, including Hugh Grant and author Simon Farnaby. And as with Paddington, Wonka developed through their collaboration into a incomparable fantasy adventureThere is a creative surprise around every corner, a colorful candy full of magic, a joke that can make even bad-tempered parents laugh.
