The most anticipated Netflix movie of the year opens tomorrow

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery finally launches on Netflix tomorrow, December 22nd. Just in time for the holiday season to make us forget about mediocre streaming bulk goods and the hassle of numerous canceled Netflix series. Because we can already reveal that you are rightly looking forward to the Knives Out sequel.

Knives Out 2: Glass Onion continues Netflix’s terrific crime series

In fact, you don’t have to have seen Detective Benoit Blanc’s first case to enjoy Glass Onion on Netflix. The only unifying element of the films is the eccentric private snoopers himself, the Daniel Craig once again brought to life with great enthusiasm (and again with a wonderful southern accent in English). Nobody asks about his James Bond anymore.

This time Benoit Blanc travels to Greece, because here the tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) has a group of illustrious friends on his private island invited: In one killer game the guests should find out who killed their host. But of course not everything goes as planned and while past disputes boil up in the group, the game quickly becomes bitterly serious. One thing is certain: anyone sitting in the glass bulb of Miles’ extravagant home shouldn’t throw stones.

Why Glass Onion is definitely worth it on Netflix

The acclaimed crime thriller prequel, Knives Out, set the bar high for the sequel. Thankfully, Glass Onion doesn’t have to hide from that legacy. Rian Johnson’s sequel shares hers with the first film Love for quirky characters. In its narrative structure, however, Part 2 has a few surprises in store.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

When visiting Netflix, everyone has to judge for themselves whether the crime plot in Glass Onion has more or less complex twists than its predecessor. What is striking, however, is that Sequel even more humor brings. This ranges from astute pandemic observations and hilarious jokes about social media use to scathing commentary on the rich, powerful, and beautiful of this world.

At the heart of Glass Onion’s whodunnit fun, of course, are the precisely cast stars. It’s difficult to decide whether Edward Norton’s self-absorbed Elon Musk blend, Dave Bautista’s men’s rights activist or Kate Hudson’s ex-model with no sense of self-censorship will take home the trophy of the most absurd favorite character. And we won’t reveal anything about the cameos yet… But pssst! Oh you happy crime time.
