The unmanned lunar lander Peregrine, or the Peregrine Falcon, will not be able to land on the moon.
The reason must be that it has no chance of a soft landing due to lack of fuel, according to the space company Astrobotic, which is behind the project.
Instead, the probe will continue its journey until the fuel runs out, which is expected to happen in about 40 hours.
It was on Monday that the lunar lander was sent up from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Even then the problems began – malfunctioning solar panels, fuel leaks and severe scratches on the probe’s outer shell.
