PC Stacey Hegenbarth of West Mercia Police found Alfie motionless in a room on February 18, 2021. Hegenbarth said that when he found the poor boy, he was naked and lying on the floor, and saw a person he thought was his mother performing CPR on Alfie.
Hegenbarth also said of the place where he found Alfie, “There was a big, dirty, badly stained mattress on the floor. No linens, no bed. The floor was dirty and sticky. I think there was a broken wardrobe in one corner. It was very messy.”
