The moderators rebuked Trump – time and time again

Claimed that immigrants eat pets in Ohio • Oscarsson: “Falling on its own accord”

The great presidential debate in Philadelphia is over. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump were brought face to face and at times it flashed, including on the issues of migration and abortion.

– It is perhaps the most important debate in American presidential election history and has a major impact on the future, says Marcus Oscarsson.

During the debate, ABC News moderators had to correct Trump on several occasions. One of the times after the former president claimed that immigrants in Ohio are eating people’s pets.

– When the moderators go in and correct him, he is perceived, as Tim Walz has said, as weird and extreme, says Marcus Oscarsson.

Trump: “Kills newborn babies”

During the debate around the abortion issue, it happened again – when Donald Trump claims that newborn babies are executed. Kamala Harris responded that it’s troubling that he can’t tell facts from lies.

– Harris made Trump be the one who gets accused of various things in the debate, rather than the other way around, says Marcus Oscarsson.

In the past, Trump’s lies and conspiracy theories have been a successful method.

– The difference this time was that the moderators were clearer than before and corrected him in a very clear way. Trump is losing this, says Marcus Oscarsson.

Lied over 30 times

During the night’s debate, the former president lied over 30 times, according to CNN. But even Kamala Harris went with untruths.

The vice president claimed, among other things, that Trump left behind the worst unemployment since the Great Depression, which is not true.

The presidential debate was the first between Harris and Trump – but perhaps not the last.

– Harris won the debate quite clearly. It is therefore not surprising if she does not want to do it again, while Trump afterwards wanted another one, says Oscarsson.
