Värmdö municipality has been moderate-led since 2006, but in this year’s election the party has lost four percentage points, while the opposition party Social Democrats has gained 6.6 percentage points and is clearly the largest party in the municipality. In the last election in 2018, the parties were basically the same size.
– There are several things that influenced our election results, but I think it is far too early to make a statement. We have to analyze it, of course, says municipal board chairman Deshira Flankör (M).
Who will govern Värmdö municipality is currently unclear, but both the moderates and the social democrats are probing the terrain with other parties to try to get a majority.
