The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will have an endless dungeon in 2023 – we know that

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In 2023, The Elder Scrolls Online is breaking its old update cycle. This means that fewer dungeons come into play than usual. But a still puzzling mechanism at the end of the year should remedy the situation.

What is changing in ESO? Normally, the updates in ESO have been clocked through for a few years, so that every player actually knows what will be new in the MMORPG in the coming months.

In 2023, however, the developers want to break with this and bring some innovations to the update cycle:

  • The year 2023 begins for Elder Scrolls Online with the DLC Scribes of Fate. As usual, this brings with it two new dungeons in normal and veteran mode. In addition, the new story “Shadows over Morrowind” starts, which should run throughout 2023 and maybe even beyond.
  • On June 5th, the big Necrom expansion will come to the MMORPG. This brings about a 30-hour campaign in two new areas, as well as the new arcanist class.
  • In the third quarter, the focus is on player improvements and bug fixes.
  • At the end of 2023, in the fourth quarter, the most exciting innovation will come: It is a kind of endless dungeons in which you can compete.
  • Here’s the trailer for the new expansion:

    Endless dungeons with your “buddy”

What do we know about the endless dungeon? So far almost nothing and the information about it is actually quite rare:

  • We know it’s supposed to be its own game mode, coming in Q4 2023.
  • The new mechanics are fundamentally focused on PvE and offer a challenge.
  • The endless dungeon is to be divided into different floors, which gradually become more and more difficult and continue to challenge you. “You” is also to be understood as the plural, because there are two of you in the dungeon.

You can probably fight your way through the dungeons with another player or with an NPC companion. We’re talking about a “buddy” that you can take with you. This has not yet been defined more precisely, but the players are eagerly discussing it in the forum (via elderscrollsonline.com).

Not much more is known about the new mechanics. It would also be conceivable to have lists of the best in order to compare one another, but this has not yet been confirmed. We at MeinMMO will keep you up to date.

The new class as a further highlight in 2023

What is the pinnacle of Necrom? In addition to the new areas and the story, the highlight of the new Necrom expansion is the new arcanist class. This is based on a unique mechanism in the ESO universe and should therefore bring a breath of fresh air to the meta and class selection.

With the arcanist you collect so-called crux points that influence your skills. So you can choose to Crux an ability for less damage, or collect more and then unleash a more powerful ability later.

Similar to other classes, the arcanist also offers different skill trees to focus on damage, healing or tanking. The new class can therefore be used in a variety of ways and can also be played flexibly thanks to the Crux mechanics.

What is the highlight in ESO 2023 for you? Are you looking forward to the endless dungeon? Or do you want the old focus back? Write it to us in the comments here on MeinMMO.

In any case, for our ESO expert Melli, Necrom is an absolute hit.
