After 607 days of injury absence, the sprint star made a comeback on Friday and won a competition in Idre. Now she may be eligible for a place in the Swedish national team for the competitions in Davos next weekend.
But then she gets a worse starting number than she would have had if her Fis points had been frozen during the injury period.
The points were frozen the first year, but since then the Swedish Skiing Association has not applied to extend the frozen points further.
Neither Svahn nor the association knew the rule that a new application had to be made after one year. Svahn blames the union.
“It is the responsibility of the Skiing Association to ensure that my Fis points remain,” she says The evening paper.
National team manager Anders Byström:
“If it’s a mistake made by the association, which I don’t know if it is, we have to do everything we can for her to get the point back,” he says to the newspaper.
— We will make a formal request to the executive length committee now.
