The occupational pension company Alecta has lost at least twelve billion kroner after investing in some of the American banks that crashed. – We have a serious situation, says Minister of Financial Markets Niklas Wykman (M) to TV4 Nyheterna. Wykman does not want to comment on the placements of individual companies but, as he said, underlines the seriousness of the situation. – So far we don’t see any spread risks to the Swedish financial community, it’s most boring for those who are customers of the individual company, he tells TV4 Nyheterna. Close dialogue He was also asked how he views the risk of a new financial crisis. – Now we work in close dialogue with our authority. I know that the Financial Supervisory Authority has done a great deal of work in consulting with market players and gathering information. It is important that all actors in the economy work actively, he says. See the financial markets minister’s comment in the clip above.
