The Minister of Social Affairs sounds the alarm: too few are fully vaccinated

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The spread of infection in the country has been extreme in recent weeks, with several hospitals going into staff mode. The culprit in the drama has been covid-19, the RS virus and the seasonal flu. Now Social Affairs Minister Jakob Forssmed (KD) is calling on the public to take responsibility and the message is clear:

– We have a high rate of infection and then it is important that we take responsibility. Not least for those who have home care and special accommodation. In addition, that we stock up on more vaccines so that there are more of us who are fully vaccinated.

“About several years”

Despite the fact that covid-19 is no longer classified as a public health disease and society has returned to everyday life, Forssmed believes that we must continue to protect ourselves. And for a long time to come.

– It is about several more years. We do not know how the virus will develop, because it can change in different ways. What we know is that we will have to protect ourselves for the foreseeable future against this virus, he says.

This is what the government plans to do to increase vaccinations: listen in the player above.
