the Minister of Justice wants to be reassuring about the

This Tuesday, September 13, Ibrahima Diallo’s lawyer, Me Salifou Béavogui, spoke on RFI about his emergency transfer to hospital on Monday due to health problems. Nothing alarming, according to the Minister of Justice, this is the usual procedure when an inmate reports a health problem.

The Guinean Minister of Justice, Alphonse Charles Wright, wants to be reassuring about the state of health of Ibrahima Diallo. He said he went this Wednesday morning to the Central House of Conakry, where the head of FNDC operations is imprisoned.

“Very early this morning, I headed for the central house in Conakry to meet Mr. Diallosays the minister at the microphone of RFI. I had an interview with him, we discussed his state of health, everything… he is doing very well. There is an infirmary at the level of the central house which watches over the health issues of the detainees, he said that he had respiratory complaints. (…) What must be done immediately is to allow him to consult a doctor, it is his most absolute right, whatever he is accused of, we cannot deprive him of his right to have a doctor. So he went to the hospital, he was consulted by the doctor. »

One-upmanship »

Ibrahima Diallo was arrested at the end of July after demonstrations against the military junta. The head of operations of the FNDC, had to be transferred this Monday, September 12 in emergency to the hospital because of health problems, Me Salifou Béavogui, his lawyer had preferred to sound the alert.

Our client Mr. Ibrahima Diallo, was urgently admitted to the Ignace Deen hospital for intensive care related somewhat to respiratory problems, immediately the examinations began. What is to be regretted is that despite the fact that he is in detention, he is therefore in the hands of the State, he is obliged to meet his treatment costs while in under normal conditions, it is the State which must meet these costs, because it is the State which keeps him in prison. He doesn’t work, he has no source of income, so his state of health must be taken into account because he is a detainee awaiting trial. »

The Minister of Justice, Alphonse Charles Wright, also denounces the ” one-upmanship from Ibrahima Diallo’s lawyer, concerning his client’s state of health.
