We will see if there will be a trial of it, says Lotta Edblom and explains that it is unclear what the legislation says about this particular situation. She does not want to comment on individual cases, but clearly states that money for the school should go to education, and nothing else.
– Otherwise, there is a great risk that teaching will be undermined. That in the end you have to employ fewer teachers or, for example, have less access to books, says Edholm.
Do you see a need to review the school regulations?
– We have to wait and see what this leads to, and then we have to think about whether it is necessary, she says. When that would be, she cannot answer.
There are better approaches
However, she offers suggestions for alternative ways for the schools to recruit more students.
– The best thing to do is to compete with kavlité in the long term, hire trained teachers and so on. Not to attract students by putting money in their pockets.
