Around lunchtime on Friday, the Migration Minister comments on SD’s call to the government:
– I can guarantee the SD that it will not be the agreement that the European Parliament has reached. Now I lead the negotiations in the Council of Europe, between the member states, and it is well known that the Council of Europe has a stricter position than the Parliament.
She also clarifies that the parties are in complete agreement about the goal of the negotiations in the Council of Europe.
– We have exactly the same entry mode as SD. We will never be able to stand behind a pact that does not mean stricter immigration to Sweden. That is also the goal I have in the negotiations in the Council of Europe, says Maria Malmer Stenergard.
– This is an important issue for them and I understand that they want to apply pressure, she adds.
