The MFF star: They incite our fans

The referee Fredrik Klitte temporarily called off the big match between Malmö FF and IFK Gothenburg at the stadium in Malmö. This after home supporters threw objects twice as the blue and white players celebrated their goals in front of their heels in the first half. The interruption lasted about ten minutes.

MFF striker Isaac Kiese Thelin thinks that two-goal shooter Arbnor Mucolli and his teammates in IFK Göteborg should have thought a little extra.

“Must be a little smarter”

— Their players celebrate a meter in front of our fans. It is clear that something will happen. They have to be a little smarter too and go from there, says Isaac Kiese Thelin, who put MFF’s reduction on penalties at the beginning of the second half.

He believes that the referee should have marked against the blue and white players with a warning.

“Then maybe it’s difficult, there’s a lot going on, but it would have been good if he had marked, so they won’t do it again and there won’t be any irritation,” says Kiese Thelin.

— It is because they are one meter from our fans and incite them, then it will be like that, the MFF player continues.

The Gothenburg player Arbnor Mucolli says that he did not deliberately provoke the opposing supporters.

“Just Be Happy”

— I was just happy for the goals. I didn’t see what they did, if they threw. It wasn’t my intention to do anything, I was just happy, says the 23-year-old, who scored both 1–0 and 2–0.

IFK Gothenburg coach Jens Askou:

— It would have been very strange if they ran 100 meters down to our own supporters and celebrated. Normally, you do it where you score goals. I don’t think it’s the first time in world history that you celebrate against fans, says the Dane.

MFF defender Martin Olsson equalized to make the final score 2–2 in the seventh additional minute.
