The MFF star receives a suspended sentence for drunk driving

It was on the evening of April 18 that the footballer was stopped by police in central Malmö after driving his car too fast. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated drunken driving after having a blood alcohol level of 1.3.

In May, the 27-year-old midfielder was charged with aggravated drunk driving and illegal driving.

“It’s my fault, but I’m not a criminal,” he said during the trial in Malmö district court two weeks ago.

MFF has not suspended the Peruvian from games. The club has said it has “taken disciplinary action”. The player’s defense lawyer has stated that it is a one-month salary deduction.

The midfielder has started in all of MFF’s twelve Allsvenskan matches this season.
