The Mexican navy seized more than eight tons of drugs | Foreign countries

Mexican Navy told on Friday, having seized more than eight tons of drugs. According to the navy, this is the biggest drug seizure it has made at sea.

Merivoimat did not specify which drugs it was, but said that the total value of the seized cargo was about 2,000 billion pesos, or just under one hundred million euros.

According to the navy, a total of drugs were found on six different ships that were stopped on the west coast of the country. One of the ships was a submarine. Merivoimat said it arrested 23 suspects in connection with its operation.

Several influential drug cartels operate in Mexico. For decades, the country has been the center of the drug trade to the United States.
