The metal factory in De Meern still has no control over carcinogenic nickel powder

Injured in incident at De Meern chemical factory no danger

Nickel powder is a substance that can cause cancer if inhaled. If the powder comes into contact with oxygen or normal air, it will spontaneously catch fire at room temperature. The powder is used to induce reactions in, among other things, the food industry. The Meern factory was owned by BASF from 2006 to 2023. The chemical group sold the factory to an investment company, which named it IQatalyst.
