The Messina Strait Bridge becomes reality CdM green light

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – The Council of Ministers meeting today for the approval of the fiscal delegation gave the green light also to the so-called Bridge Decreewhich provides for the immediate restart of the planning and implementation process Bridge over the Strait of Messina. The MIMS announces it with a note at the end of the CdM.

The new authorization process will have to stamp the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world (about 3.2 kilometres) which will represent the flagship of the Italian engineering art.

The minister Matthew Salvini wanted to underline that “it is a strongly green work” which “will make it possible to reduce carbon dioxide pollution, as well as allowing a substantial saving of time and money to all those who have to cross the Strait”.

The bridge – added the deputy prime minister – will also “a major tourist attraction” and a “driver for infrastructural growth” for the regions of Sicily and Calabria.
