He is one of Sweden’s greatest athletes of all time.
Now TV4 announces that it is releasing “Sagan Stenmark” – a documentary in three parts about the skiing legend.
– Maybe it would be fun for my children and grandchildren to see what I’ve been up to in my youth, he says about his participation.

Few athletes in Swedish history can measure up to Ingemar Stenmark. Sweden literally stopped every time he ventured into the backfield, and when he ended his career, he did so with a record that few could match.

New, exciting project

Stenmark could then look back on two Olympic golds, five World Cup golds and an absolutely unparalleled 86 World Cup victories. A record that stood for many, many years. Thanks to his successes, Stenis became one of Sweden’s most popular athletes, and even though it was a few years since he retired, Stenis still has a given place in the hearts of all Swedish sports lovers.

And now comes a message that makes just about everyone cheer right out. TV4 announces that this winter it will release “Sagan Stenmark”, a documentary about Ingemar Stenmark. The documentary will be released in three parts and will premiere in December.

“Feels absolutely fantastic”

For Stenmark, who is not seen in the media too often, it was obvious to stand up for the project.

– I have rarely thought about my career, so it was fun to look back on all the memories and to meet old friends that I don’t see very often. I chose to participate in the documentary to be able to influence and give a fair image of myself and that it might be fun for my children and grandchildren to see what I have been doing in my youth, says Stenmark in a press release.

TV4 does not boast that it is proud of the project, where, in addition to Stenmark, stars such as Stig Strand, Pernilla Wiberg and rival Bojan Krizaj participate.

– It feels absolutely fantastic to make a documentary with one of Sweden’s most successful and popular athletes of all time. TV4 has long wanted to do a story about Ingemar Stenmark’s life and career. We are very happy to now be able to make the official documentary, in which the protagonist himself participates, says Malin Knave, executive producer.
