With the exhibition Concrete, Sadaf Ahmadi wants to clarify the oppression of women in the country she fled from by highlighting the victims of the protests. She has covered their portraits with concrete and with the help of a hammer, this weekend’s visitors were able to take part in a happening where the faces and people appeared again.
The second half was stopped
– We must use energy and our muscles to break down what prevents us from getting the information we must have in order to be free. And I feel privileged to have the exhibition here, because in Iran it is impossible, says Sadaf Ahmadi.
The second half of the exhibition, which was first stopped, consists of hanging women made of concrete in veils and can be seen from 21 October at Borås art gallery.
