Last Action Hero is a great movie. He’s funny and action packed and very charming. But when the film hit theaters in 1993, people thought differently. Many critics panned it (via Variety ), it flopped at the box office (via Box Office Mojo ). And that after its shooting were characterized by life-threatening chaos and unbelievable megalomania. From Die Hard director John McTiernan, the film revolves around young film lover Danny (Austin O’Brien), whose biggest screen hero is action cop Jack Slater (Schwarzenegger). Through a magical cinema ticket Danny suddenly enters Slater’s fictional world and must help him put a stop to the sinister killer Benedict (Charles Dance).

According to Empire have been a complete disaster. The budget rose to unaffordable heights and the time for filming became extremely tight. The pressure was so immense that even continued filming as a star O’Brien passed out during a stunt. As the actor quotes director McTiernan to Empire, you simply can’t afford the break.
