(Finance) – An opportunity for tourism development and the valorization of traditions in the name of art and gastronomy: this is the perimeter set by the event “The Medici meet the Bourbons” wanted by Tuscany Tourist Promotion, Regional Agency active in the strategies of diffusion of the cultural, historical, food and wine and hospitality offer, which has chosen Campania and Bacoli for a journey – even with dances in period costumes – through Tuscan history, giving life to the event scheduled for next Saturday, October 28, at 6 pm, in Bacoli (Naples), in the Palazzo dell’Ostrichina inside the Fusaro Bourbon Park.

It will be recalled Renaissance Tuscany with its harmonious features characteristic of the Medici villas and gardens, a UNESCO heritage site. The location chosen by the director of Toscana Promozione Turistica, Francesco Tapinassi, it will be the stage for a ‘meeting’ between the two courts and will represent a tribute to as many celebrations of historical importance: the Vanvitellian year which is coming to an end and that of Cosimo de’ Medici which will open in 2024. “Campania and the Center -Southern Italy represents an important percentage of tourist flows towards Tuscany – says Tapinassi – we wanted to seize the opportunity of this event, in a location with an important historical dimension, to echo and highlight the strengths of our region with its historical cultural heritage and food and wine excellences”. “The Medici meet the Bourbons” is part of a program of events organized by Toscana Promozione Turistica and dedicated to the valorization of the region both in Italy and abroad, enhancing its historical/cultural character. A promotional activity for Tuscany which is among the recommended destinations for 2024 in the ‘Best in Travel’ volume by Lonely Planet. In terms of regional GDP, the tourism sector represents approximately 13%; Tuscan operators expect a strengthening of the tourist flow from Campania (it is the sixth region for arrivals at a national level and the first in the South).

The Bacoli evening will open with the presentation of the Tuscany destination by Tapinassie by Clara Svanera, journalist and head of cultural tourism for Tuscany tourist promotion. The textile manufacturing technique with the valorization of silks is another distinctive feature of the two courts and will be commemorated in Bacoli with historical dances in Renaissance clothes made by Tuscan tailors and silk factories. The period costumes will be worn by the members of the delegation of the historical dance company “Il Lauro di Sansepolcro” of Arezzo and by other figures.

Among the sectors that make Tuscany a brand appreciated in the world there is food and wine. On the same days the region will participate in the food and wine culture event Eruzioni del Gusto, an event created by Carmine Maione, which will take place in another Bourbon site, in Pietrarsa. A taste of Tuscan delicacies but also of the ‘Bourbon’ ones will also be had in Bacoli with a tasting organized by the chef and re-enactor Alessia Uccellini. The chef has the task of presenting some Renaissance dishes inspired by Medici cuisine and in particular that of Caterina de’ Medici. Supporting the food and wine project is the Regional Union of Tuscan Chefs, led by Roberto Lodovichi. Also on the menu is a Bourbon digression with a meeting between the wines of the two regions. Here is the menu: Erbato – savory pie filled with seasonal wild herbs and spices; Egg with almonds served on the shell; Carabaccia – Solid onion soup on Tuscan DOP bread (from which the French Soupe à l’oignon will derive); Insalata della Regina – mixed salad with anchovies and raisins (from which the French Salade de la reine derives); Duck with apple orange (from Canard à l’orange); Sweet Pezzole (Crepe Suzette); Bread and honey cake. There will also be a corner of Tuscan consortium products: Pecorino Toscano DOP, Tuscan ham DOP, Tuscan oil IGP, Tuscan bread DOP, Soppressata, Mortadella di Prato IGP, Finocchiona IGP.

A special moment will then be dedicated to the presentation of “Welcome”, a project on female tourism launched by Toscana Promozione Turistica. A story of the values ​​and good practices of Tuscan hospitality which will be entrusted to the re-enactment of six historical women, iconic figures linked to the heritage of the region and who embody the principles of hospitality. For one evening Caterina de Medici, Simonetta Vespucci, Anna Maria Luisa De Medici, Luisa di Stolberg Gederm, Fortunata Sulgher, Florence Nightingale will come to life and parade in historical clothes faithful to those paintings that immortalized them.

With Tapinassi and Svanera, Nicola Caputo, councilor for agricultural policies of the Campania Region, the mayor of Bacoli Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, Sergio Cosentini, administrator of the Fusaro Bourbon Park, Grazia Frappi, artistic coordinator of the re-enactment and Renaissance menus, Elisabetta Bardelli Ricci will be present at the evening. , general manager of the Antico Setificio Fiorentino and testimonial of female tourism in Tuscany, tourism promotion, Carmine Maione. The event will be concluded by the comedian-cabarettist Enzo Fischetti.
