Ireland’s data protection authority has sent a proposal to European colleagues to ban Meta from sending user data from Europe to the US. This, in turn, pressures the parties to speed up the negotiations regarding an already existing draft agreement on the matter.
– Facebook and Instagram, i.e. Meta, have reacted and said that this may mean that the European app users will not have access to the services during the negotiation period, says Brit Stakson.
