Ukraine’s military stated this week that several Russian storming attempts at the city were repulsed. They describe the Russian attacks as purposeful and constant.

Tjasiv Jar, located on a hill, has been described as strategically important and a central Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region. If the city were to fall into Russian hands, it could serve as a springboard for further attacks on the larger cities of Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk and Slovjansk.
