Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania begins this week the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the 31st film in the franchise that has existed since 2008, which leads us to the question of how long the stories about the individual superheroes can continue at all.
According to Marvel CEO Kevin Feige, we’re not even halfway there. He has already completely planned six phases. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, however, he dreams of a much more extensive expansion of the MCU. His wish: at least 80 years should it exist.

Cowardly models are the comics on which his films and series are based. These go back more than eight decades in the past and inspire to this day.
It’s like people who go to comic book stores. There’s Spider-Man and the Avengers and the big titles. Sometimes they’ll snag a one-off or experiment from an artist or writer they’re a fan of. That’s why comics have been around for over 80 years. And I want Marvel Studios also existed for so longif not longer.

However, Feige does not present a concrete timetable. For him it’s all about them next three years, which are shaped by the events of the Multiverse saga. The second comprehensive MCU chapter is completed by another Avengers double whammy: Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty starts in 2025, before Avengers 6: Secret Wars turns the entire MCU upside down a year later.

If the MCU continues to be stable in the cinema and ensures new subscriptions to Disney +, we can assume that we will have more in the futureh many more films and series expect. The 80 years do not seem unrealistic. James Bond has also been returning to the cinema for over 60 years, even if he has had several cast changes in the meantime. The MCU could also reboot itself every few decades.
