Mark Ruffalo is a big name in Hollywood. In blockbuster cinema he rages on the big screen as the Hulk and is an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, he only recently received very good reviews for the idiosyncratic fantasy film Poor Things, in which he can be seen with Emma Stone.
In a new interview, Ruffalo reveals that his career wasn’t always so good. Especially in the 2000s he had Problems getting bigger roles. As he reveals to High Snobiety, he almost didn’t get one of the best films of his career: Zodiac – The Killer’s Trail.

With Zodiac – The Killer’s Trail, director David Fincher (Sieben) has created a masterpiece of serial killer film, which is above all his outstanding cast lives. Alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr., Ruffalo is an important part of it. However, the studio classified the actor as dispensable at the time.
I’ll never forget how they paid for my deal [Zodiac] have negotiated. The studio representative literally told my manager, “We don’t give a shit about Mark Ruffalo. We don’t even want Mark Ruffalo in this movie. So you accept what we offer you or forget it.’

Ruffalo should now have no problem landing a role. In recent years he has been able to regularly demonstrate his talent. Particularly impressive were the investigative films Spotlight and Poisoned Truth as well as the miniseries I Know This Much Is True, in which he plays a dual role.
Ruffalo is currently thrilling in the historical series All the Light We Don’t See on Netflix, which takes us to the Second World War.
