Zeb in The Mandalorian

In the animated series, Zeb has one of the most important roles. He is the Ghost crew muscle and is very familiar with all imaginable weapons. In addition, he has discovered a passion for flying, which he now lives out in the service of the New Republic. However, his appearance in The Mandalorian is not too big.

Nevertheless, one sounds familiar voice: When Zeb speaks, we hear Steve Blum, who also brings the character to life in Star Wars Rebels. The Rebels spokesman was also engaged in the German synchro: Oliver Siebeck. The cameo most likely does not happen by accident. There is a bigger plan behind it.

  • Not the only cameo: Alongside Zeb, The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 5, features other familiar faces and voices, from Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa to Luke Skywalker double Max Lloyd-Jones. They can all be seen or heard as X-Wing pilots.
  • Zeb’s cameo in The Mandalorian comes at just the right time, which is before Ahsoka’s launch

Another Star Wars series, Ahsoka, will start later this year on Disney+, which is part of the MandoVerse. And in Ahsoka, numerous characters appear that we know from Star Wars Rebels. Confirmed are Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. Also the cheeky droid choppers returns.

    Zeb in Star Wars Rebels

Everything points to Ahsoka continuing the legacy of Star Wars Rebels. Accordingly, it could be that The Mandalorian with Zeb’s cameo on the Return of the Ghost Crew prepared. Last but not least, the Lasat is likely to be completely unknown to many viewers who have not seen Star Wars Rebels.

Back in The Mandalorian season 2, series creator Jon Favreau threw out a lot of breadcrumbs that lead us to Ahsoka, including the one Live action introduction the title character himself. There’s a good chance we’ll see Zeb again this year, and probably in a much bigger role then.
