On Friday, September 2, the man was found at an address in Staffanstorp, something that Sydsvenskan was the first to report on.
It was in December 2019 that the man was sentenced to prison for one year and ten months for gross unfaithfulness to the principal, accounting crimes and falsification of records. The Court of Appeal considered it proven that he had defrauded one of the waste companies, Malmö Metallteknik, of SEK 3.5 million.
Don’t show up at the facility
On April 7, 2020, the man was supposed to report to Kolmården prison, but when he didn’t show up, the Probation Service decided to call for him. Now, over two years later, the man has been found and he will serve his almost two-year prison sentence.
The convicted man has himself wished to sit in the open Tygelsjö Institution, but will instead be placed in an institution in Karlskoga with a higher security class. This is because the Correctional Service sees a risk that the man will escape again.
Was replaced by his relatives
Until the verdict, the man was CEO of several waste companies in Skåne. SVT Nyheter Skåne has previously reported that several municipalities in Skåne have had legal proceedings against the companies for several years because the waste mountains are considered to be environmentally dangerous.
The Court of Appeal also decided on a five-year business ban for the man. He then left his positions in the companies and was replaced by relatives.
