For months, cryptic statements by those responsible have been circulating for a possible film adaptation of Elden Ring. Now there is a new note from the authors personally – but directly with the note that he will not have much to do with it. But there is a good reason.
What about the film?
This is what George RR Martin says now: “I can’t say too much, but there are talks about filming Elden Ring,” the author reveals to the magazine. This is still not a confirmation, but at least a little more concrete than before.
Martin becomes a little more precise when it comes to how much he can contribute. Namely: not much. Martin says in the interview: “We will see if [der Elden-Ring-Film] It is created and I still don’t know how big my participation will be. “
The author explains that with his latest book Winds of Winter, he was in arrears “a few years”. The latest part of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” or “Game of Thrones” saga has been in the works since 2011.
Martin originally intended to complete his epic at the release of Game of Thrones. It didn’t quite work out and Martin says himself that he does not know how such a delay could occur. The book is now a priority.

Elden ring continues, but not (yet) as a film
After the release, Elden Ring got a first DLC with Shadow of the Erdtree 2024, which costs new bosses, new areas and an extended storyline.
The spin-off is currently in the make. Here your loot collects on a map and has to survive in day-night cycles to defeat bosses for several nights in a row. The game principle is designed for rounds and co-op gameplay. Nighttreign will be released on May 20, 2025.
