the magistrates denounce the violence of the police

In Sudan, while demonstrators had mobilized on Friday, January 21, in Khartoum, in front of the houses of the victims of the repression, around fifty magistrates signed a joint declaration to condemn the action of the security forces and to ask that the perpetrators of the violence are brought to justice.

The demonstrators are still contesting the management of the country by the military, especially since the military coup in October, as well as the repression of their movement by the police. Since then, more than 70 protesters have been killed. The magistrates signed a text to condemn this violence by the police and to ask that those responsible be tried.

Every day there is violence orchestrated by the security forces. Every day, there are murders, injuries, people who disappear. As soon as there is a demonstration, three, five, seven people die each time. All this pushed us to make this declaration and to condemn these crimes because it must stop, the military must leave power. We want these crimes to stop and those responsible to be brought to justice. After Monday’s violence, the military announced the establishment of a committee to investigate these crimes, but I don’t believe it. It makes no sense ! In no dictatorship, there has never been justice, real justice “Explains, to RFI, the magistrate Ahmed Antagy.
