The LVU decisions in Älvsbyn were torn up at an extraordinary meeting: “Pure lies”

It all started with the fact that the new chairman of the social committee, Peter Lundberg (KD), did not understand the bans on visiting three children.

When he asked around, he was told that the parents could not be spoken to, but he and the social manager booked a meeting with the parents who pointed out that the municipality had broken the law on several points.

– I felt that as a leisure politician I did not have that detailed expertise, so we brought in an external investigator. There are very serious shortcomings that come to light in that review, says Peter Lundberg (KD).

More cases to be reviewed

The deficiencies pointed out by the consultant meant that an extraordinary meeting was called with the social committee where the LVU decisions were overturned.

The social service’s investigations, which were involved during the LVU negotiations in the administrative court, the consultant concludes that medical certificates were falsified.

Chairman Lundberg believes that it shows system errors both within the municipality itself and the judiciary.

Now he wants the municipality to review all ongoing LVU cases, which you can hear more about in the clip above.
