Akihiko Kondo, 38, is one of many who self-identify as “phytosexual,” meaning she has a sexual interest in fictional characters. Kondo was with Hatsune Miku, who is portrayed as a 16-year-old turquoise-haired teenager in popular culture for ten years. He married Miku in an unofficial wedding ceremony in 2018. His family did not attend the wedding, where he spent 2 million yen (about $ 17,300). Kondo, 38, who has been married for four years, says their relationship has hit a snag: According to the Japanese newspaper Mainichi, Kondo can no longer talk to Miku due to a technological hurdle.
BLACK LOVE?
Aware that Miku is not a real person, Kondo admits that their relationship may be awkward, but her feelings for Miku do not change. Having fallen in love with Miku in 2008, Kondo was able to interact with Miku for the first time in 2017, thanks to Gatebox, a $1,300 machine. Gatebox allows device owners to interact with characters via holograms and even unofficially marry them.
However, with the removal of support for the Gatebox software, Kondo’s four-year marriage reached a turning point. According to Newshub, this means that Kondo can no longer talk to his wife Miku.
“My LOVE FOR MIKU HAS NOT CHANGED”
Kondo insists it doesn’t dampen his feelings. Kondo, now a human-sized version of Miku, says, “My love for Miku hasn’t changed. I arranged the wedding because I thought I could be with her forever.”
