48-year-old Ganire Pashayeva, from Tovuz city of Azerbaijan, participated in the general elections in 2005 as an independent candidate after 7 years as a reporter and presenter. Pashayeva, who was elected as a Tovuz deputy and entered the Azerbaijan National Assembly, was also a member of the Standing Committee on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations in the National Assembly.

Minister Güler published a condolence message for the death of Azerbaijani Deputy Paşayeva. Minister Güler included the following statements in his condolence message:
“We learned with great sadness about the death of Azerbaijani Deputy Ms. Ganire Pashayeva. May God have mercy on the late Ganire Pashayeva, whom we knew for her love for the Turkish world and who shouted the brotherhood of Turkey and Azerbaijan until her last breath, and we offer our condolences and patience to the brother Azerbaijani people.”
WHO IS GANIRE PASHAYEVA?
Ganire Pashayeva was born on March 24, 1975 in Tovuz, Azerbaijan. Pashayeva, who graduated from the Department of Pediatrics of Azerbaijan Medical University and the Department of International Law of Baku State University, started broadcasting in 1998.
Pashayeva became head of the Public Relations Department of the Heydar Aliyev Fund in 2005. Shortly afterwards, Paşayeva was elected as Tovuz Deputy in the parliamentary election held on November 6, 2005, and served in different positions in the parliament. Pashayeva was most recently the head of the Cultural Commission of the National Assembly. Pashayeva participated in numerous events in Turkey. Pashayeva, who had many writings and speeches on the Turkish world, argued that “Turkey’s strength means the Turkish world’s strength.” Pashayeva, who was single, knew English and Russian.
