The first big game came out in January 2024: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. But instead of being an ongoing service hit, the game became a flop with few players on Steam. Nevertheless, the Rocksteady studio continued to bring new content throughout 2024. This will end in 2025. But there is still good news.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League didn’t have it easy right from the start. The fans of the Rocksteady studio, which made a name for itself with the Batman Arkham series, were not very impressed by the idea of a service loot shooter in this universe.
The player numbers were also quite sobering for a service game. The peak on Steam was only 13,459 concurrent players. According to SteamDB, there are currently almost 500 players in the game, although a discount has caused a small increase in the last few weeks.
Rocksteady has consistently offered new content in the form of seasons over the course of 2024. There were new characters and new missions. Now the last new character is supposed to appear with Season 4 and then it’s over. But there is still good news: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League remains playable.

No more new content, but the game remains
Which playable villain comes into play? All new content for Season 4 of the game has been announced on the game’s official website. The big highlight is again the new playable character. After Mrs. Freeze comes Deathstroke, a popular DC villain. In the comics, the mercenary often competed against Batman or the Teen Titans.
As of today, December 10, 2024, you can unlock and then play the new character. With it comes a new area that is visually reminiscent of the Middle Ages. There are also new weapons and pieces of equipment.
The last content update will come in January 2025 with Episode 8 and support will also end. The game will remain online for now and offer all previously released content. A good announcement, however, is that there will be an offline mode in which you can play all content even without an internet connection.
This means that the game will probably be denied the fate of The Crew. The servers in the racing game have been switched off since April 2024 and the game is no longer playable because there is no offline mode.
For many fans, the Suicide Squad game was a big disappointment because they wanted a new Arkham game. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League wasn’t such a bad game.
