For the first time in 20 years, a polar bear cub has been born at Hamburg’s Hagenbeck Tierpark zoo in Germany. The cub was born in mid-December last year, but it is only now that the zoo is releasing pictures of it. The last time a polar bear was born at the zoo was in 2002 when the mother Victoria was born there.
– A success and proof that our breeding efforts are working, says the park’s zoological director Guido Westhoff.
