There will be 27 Ivorians to conquer the African Cup of Nations which will be held on their soil from January 13 to February 11. French coach Jean-Louis Gasset has placed his trust largely in a group which has changed little over the past two years.

The Ivorians now know the 27 players who will try to win the CAN organized at home. No big surprises in the list concocted by French coach Jean-Louis Gasset. The ex-coach of AS Saint-Etienne still left Wilfried Zaha behind, who had not already been in the odor of sanctity in the selection for a while. The doubts that hovered over Nicolas Pépé, returning from injury, and Simon Adingra (injured) seem to have been lifted with their call-up for the CAN. Brighton’s latest player will be the Elephants’ attraction after sowing great hopes during his first matches.
The executives and veterans are there: captain Aurier, goalkeeper Badra, midfielders Kessié, Seri, Sangara, but also Fofana, and attackers Haller, Gradel.
Ivory Coast, host country of CAN 2024, is housed in Abidjan in Group A. It begins its tournament with the opening match against Guinea-Bissau on January 13 at 8 p.m. UT, before playing Nigeria then Equatorial Guinea.
In preparation, the Elephants will begin their gathering on January 2, with their training in San Pedro. A friendly match against Sierra Leone is scheduled for January 6 at 5 p.m. at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro.
